Much of this development spurt is with their language skills. Suddenly they may seem to understand everything you say \u2013 causing you to become more skilled in spelling words that you may not want them to hear! \u201cShould we stop at the P-A-R-K?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Most children at this age can:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Imitate activities \u2013 and this makes for a lot of fun!<\/li>\n<li>Express wants by pulling, pointing, or grunting.<\/li>\n<li>Say 1 to 3 words, as well as \u201cmama\u201d and \u201cdada.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Your child may be ready to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Say 3 to 10 words and understand simple commands.<\/li>\n<li>Point to parts of their body.<\/li>\n<li>Walk well and climb stairs.<\/li>\n<li>Drink from a cup.<\/li>\n<li>Recognize themselves in a mirror.<\/li>\n<li>Scribble \u2013 look out walls!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Remember, all babies develop at their own pace.
